2018 AANS Managing Coding & Reimbursement Challenges in Neurosurgery is organized by American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and will be held from Aug 09 - 11, 2018 at Hotel Chicago Downtown, Autograph Collection, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Practicing neurosurgeons, practice administrators, practice managers, physician assistants (PA), nurse practitioners (NP), nurses, surgery schedulers, coders, billing office staff
and other office staff members will benefit from this course. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
This event provides a valuable coding and reimbursement education that is unique in neurosurgery. The course is instructed by a faculty of physician experts and coding consultants who are leaders in code development, revision and valuation of CPT.
This three-day, live event will discuss:
• Neurosurgical CPT coding
• How documentation impacts the coding process
• Healthcare data and reimbursement
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Discuss updates to the Quality Payment Program specific to neurosurgical practice.
• Review documentation guidelines in order to identify common compliance issues in E/M coding and documentation.
• Define and discuss the role of advanced practice providers (APP) specific to neurosurgical billing and coding.
• Review documentation requirements to ensure appropriate coding compliance and reimbursement for APP services.
• Describe how to bill multiple units of add-on codes.
• Describe the global surgical package, including the pre-,intra- and post-operative global period components.
• Identify and apply correct CPT codes to commonly performed spine procedures.
• State Medicare’s conversion factor for 2018.
• Discuss and analyze strategies to improve revenue in your practice.
• Identify and apply correct CPT codes to commonly performed cranial procedures.
• Identify and apply correct CPT codes to commonly performed neuroendovascular procedures.
