2018 AANS Advanced Coding for Complex Spine Cases is organized by American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and will be held on Aug 25, 2018 at Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Rosemont, Illinois, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is practicing neurosurgeons, administrators and staff with significant experience in coding and are seeking advanced coding information for complex spine procedures. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description;
The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) is pleased to offer 2018 AANS Advanced Coding for Complex Spine Cases. This one-day seminar is designed for practicing neurosurgeons, administrators and staff with significant experience in coding who are seeking advanced coding information for complex spine procedures. This intensive, fast-paced seminar starts with current initiatives that impact practice, including Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) and the Medicare Global Period project. The cases will cover various complex spine procedures and adult reconstruction for spinal deformity, including:
• Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomies (PSO);
• Smith-Petersen Osteotomies;
• Vertebral Column Reconstruction;
• Treatment of Spinal Fractures and Dislocations;
• Spinal Tumor Procedures;
• Revision Spine Surgery.
Course Objectives:
• Identify 2018 CPT updates specific to neurosurgical practice.
• Recognize CPT codes used in adult deformity cases and other complex spine procedures.
• Indicate essential documentation requirements for reimbursement of complex spine cases.
