2018 13th UVA Annual Conference of Liver Disease and Gastroenterology is organized by University of Virginia and will be held on Jun 16, 2018 at University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Charlottesville, Virginia, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is general and community-based gastroenterology physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners an opportunity to learn about and discuss the advances in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with liver disease and luminal GI diseases. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of earn up to 6.00 MOC points.
Conference Description :
Lectures will cover topics on rational approaches to pancreatic cysts, managing necrotizing pancreatitis, management of severe inflammatory bowel disease, risk factors and management for portal vein thrombosis, drug-induced liver disease, management of alcoholic hepatitis, colon dysmotility disorders, management of pelvic floor disorders, polypectomy tools such as snares, needles, clips, etc., obesity and the microbiome and hepatology cases such as viral hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis. Because of its popularity, we will feature again this year a formal resident poster symposium with presentations of the top abstracts.
Conference Objectives are :
• Describe post-endoscopic pediatric recovery guidelines and state three post-procedure complications and treatments.
• Develop a rational algorithm for the management of pancreatic cysts.
• Determine the optimal treatment algorithm for necrotizing pancreatitis.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients with severe inflammatory bowel disease.
• Understand the strategy in recognizing and treating portal vein thrombosis.
• Develop a plan for the recognition and treatment of drug-induced liver disease.
• Review the options for the management of alcoholic hepatitis Understand the disorders in gut motility and tools to diagnose them.
• Recognize the options available for the treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
• Differentiate the proper snare, injection needles, polyps and thermal coagulation tools used for polypectomies.
• Understand the connection of the microbiome and obesity.
• Review the algorithms and drug regimens available for Hepatitis C management.
• Understand treatment strategies in primary biliary cholangitis.
