16th National Immunisation Conference 2018

16th National Immunisation Conference is organized by Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) and will be held during Jun 05 - 07, 2018 at Adelaide Convention Centre, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The target audience for this medical event is Immunisation providers, such as doctors, nurses, Aboriginal health care workers, pharmacists and other interested health care professionals Vaccine-preventable disease epidemiologists and immunisation program staff, Researchers, academics and students, Public health authorities Commonwealth, state and local government – Ministers/ministerial staff, and health and social sector department representatives, NGO/community and social sector provider and advocacy organisations.

Conference Description :
In 2018 the Conference theme will be ‘Immunisation for all: Gains, gaps and goals’.

The theme has been established to reflect the importance of immunization to prevent disease, disability, and death in persons of all ages and from all backgrounds. Gains in this area include the increasing availability and effectiveness of vaccines for new diseases and for use during pregnancy - to protect the newborn infant- through to the very elderly. Equity in disease prevention that some vaccine programs are achieving, such as gender-neutral HPV vaccination, as well as the recent establishment of the ‘whole of life’ Australian Immunisation Register and improvements in vaccine coverage in children are other recent accomplishments. Better understanding that the gaps in immunization still exist, such as vaccination uptake by socially disadvantaged or medically at-risk people, will be the focus of this conference. Ensuring that future goals and the path to achieving them are carefully designed and implemented are additional key objectives of our meeting.

Conference Objectives:
• Create an environment for knowledge sharing, collaboration and relationship building.
• Highlight the activities in immunization to encourage engagement by delegates to work together to achieve better health outcomes for Australian’s.
• Engage professionals in immunization.
• Provide guidance and insight into capacity building and strengthening immunization.
• Provide conference delegates with new and innovative ideas that can be applied to local settings and systems to help create and improve health systems for local communities.

The program has been designed to provide lively and productive discussions and contributions from all professionals engaged in immunization from the laboratory bench to clinic, from academia to the service provision coalface. We invite you to submit abstracts for the following session themes:
