OVERVIEW

16th Annual HIV CME Symposium - Tough Decisions Made Easier: Clinical Management of Treatment-Experienced Patients is organized by David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA, Office of Continuing Medical Education and will be held on Nov 30, 2018 at California Endowment, Los Angeles California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Overview:
This one-day symposium is designed to provide participants with relevant, reliable, up-to-date information on the clinical management of HIV-infected patients who have failed one or more antiretroviral regimens, or who have demonstrated some degree of resistance to one or more antiretroviral drugs or classes of drugs.

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course attendees should be able to:
• Identify the roles that viral fitness, viral load and host immunity play in the management of extensively pretreated patients.
• Identify the clinical utility of genotypic and phenotypic resistance assays, and incorporate the data derived from such assays into their decision-making process.
• Utilize the full range of therapeutic options, including newly approved and investigational drugs, for patients who have failed one or more multidrug antiretroviral regimens.
• Treat some of the long-term complications of chronic HIV infection.
