Course Description:
The Mount Sinai Inflammatory Bowel Disease Consultant’s Course will provide an in-depth review of state-of-the-art diagnostic methods, medical and surgical therapeutic approaches, and cancer screening and prevention strategies in Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Faculty will lend their expertise to each of the areas that will be highlighted at the symposium. Audience interaction and participation is strongly encouraged and there will be many opportunities for case discussions which have been a highlight of prior courses.
Course Objectives are:
At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to:
• Describe recent innovations in biologic therapies and how to optimize their use in the treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
• Identify evidence-based endoscopic approaches, including colonoscopic surveillance, therapeutics and how to appropriately and optimally apply them to clinical practice.
• Analyze controversial issues in the multidisciplinary management of IBD with consideration for the special patient populations and identify the risks and benefits of treatment options.
