Topics in Internal Medicine 2017 is organized by Lahey Clinic Hospital, Inc. and would be held during Oct 20 - 22, 2017 at Cliff House, San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States of America.

Course Description :
This program will emphasize new disease management guidelines in various subspecialties;discuss practical issues for primary care providers; provide updates on current trends in internal medicine; and introduce new therapies and information relative to the treatment of patients. Course format will include lectures, question and answer periods, discussions, workshops, and case presentation sessions.

•This activity addresses the Medical Knowledge and Patient Care ACGME/ABMS competencies. Upon conclusion of this program participants.
•should be able to: Evaluate and manage: anxiety disorder; alcohol use disorder; asthma; atrial fibrillation; common rashes; diabetes; erectile dysfunction; menopause.
•Review: NOAC’ s; current treatments for IBD; common retinal problems; Sjogren’s disease; urgent care updates; osteoporosis treatment failures; recurrent UTI in women; MGUS.
•Identify and understand: what you need to know about Zika; pharmacotherapy and devices for obesity.
•Discuss: common causes of anemia; knee and shoulder injuries; influenza and pandemic preparedness; best practices in the management of chronic pain and how to not use opioids; medications with black box warnings.
