We plan sessions which will focus on the role of diabetes and altered intracellular metabolism on the development of PDAC, the mechanisms and diagnosis of PDAC-caused diabetes, the role of obesity as a risk factor and cause of PDAC, and the role of inflammation and immune mechanisms on the development and possible treatment of PDAC. Recommendations which arise from the workshop will inform possible future funding initiatives of NIDDK.
