The Interface of Pancreatic Cancer With Diabetes, Obesity and Inflammation: Research Gaps and Opportunities is organized by National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and would be held on Oct 12, 2017 at United States National Library of Medicine - Lister Hill Center Auditorium, Bethesda, Maryland, United States of America. The target audience for this medical event for oncologists, endocrinologists.
Meeting Objectives are :
This conference is to explore the relationships of diabetes, obesity, and inflammation on the mechanisms, diagnosis and possible treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). We plan sessions which will focus on the role of diabetes and altered intracellular metabolism on the development of PDAC, the mechanisms and diagnosis of PDAC-caused diabetes, the role of obesity as a risk factor and cause of PDAC, and the role of inflammation and immune mechanisms on the development and possible treatment of PDAC. Recommendations which arise from the workshop will inform possible future funding initiatives of NIDDK.
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
