OVERVIEW
Spanish and Cultural Immersion CME at Hospitalito Atitlan is organized by Hospitalito Atitlan and would be held during Feb 12 - 18, 2017 at Hospitalito Atitlan, Santiago Atitlan, Solola, Guatemala.
The target audience for this medical events are physicians, nurses and medical professionals who have studied Spanish in the past. Physicians [MDs and DOs are eligible to receive CME credit. Other healthcare professionals will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Attendance. This CME conference has been approved with 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the activity, the participant should be able to:
• Employ medical Spanish including specific terminology and verbs as well as asking common questions
• Collect clinical data from Spanish\speaking patients to determine social and family history, medical history, execute physical examination, and communicate diagnosis and follow\ups
• Describe diseases and chronic health issues that are prevalent in rural Latin America through lectures by hospital faculty and patient review
• Explain the general social context and common cultural characteristics of general Spanish speaking patients
• Effectively take a cultural history and observe cultural characteristics of individual patients
