OVERVIEW

Respiratory Nursing is organized by Ausmed Education Pty Ltd and will be held during Dec 11 - 12, 2017 at Mercure Brisbane, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. This CME conference has been approved for a maximum of 12 CPD Credits.

Respiratory conditions, both acute and chronic, are prevalent across a range of healthcare settings. A strong knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system is key to nurses and other health professionals providing evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes for people with respiratory illnesses.

Nurses and other health professionals, such as physiotherapists, therapists are often the frontline carers of people with respiratory illnesses. Correctly assessing a person’s respiratory status, followed by appropriate interventions and management, enables the nurse or health professional to safely manage a patient with a respiratory illness.

The purpose of this seminar is to offer nurses and other health professionals, including physiotherapists, an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills when caring for a person with a respiratory illness.

Learning Outcomes :
At the conclusion of this program, it is expected that the participants will be able to:
• Describe the key anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system pertinent to a respiratory assessment
• Understand the pathophysiology of a range of common acute and chronic respiratory disease states
• Apply evidence-based management principles to nursing interventions of common respiratory illness
• Develop clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills that immediately translate into improved health.
