Real Time Prostate Brachytherapy: A One Day Hands on Workshop is Organized by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and will be held on Nov 04, 2017 at Leon And Norma Hess Center For Science And Medicine, New York, United States Of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Physicians, Urologists, Radiation Oncologists, and Medical Physicists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This will be a one-day workshop to provide training and education for real-time ultrasound-guided techniques for performing LDR prostate brachytherapy. The course will be a combination of didactic lectures and hands-on training sessions.
Educational Objectives are :
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Use a Mick applicator, ultrasound unit, treatment planning software, and ultrasound probe stepper, to implant loose LDR seeds compatible with the real time planning philosophy.
• Understand physics principles behind the real-time technique for performing prostate brachytherapy.
• Understand patient selection and treatment outcomes for LDR prostate brachytherapy.
