OVERVIEW
Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology (OAO) Post Graduate Convention is organized by Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology (OAO) and would be held during Mar 10 - 11, 2017 at World Forestry Center, Portland, Oregon, United States Of America.
The OAO CME Committee plans activities for medical and surgical eye physicians who practice general and specialty ophthalmology. We seek to serve the educational needs of our membership, as well as the needs of local and regional ophthalmology colleagues. This program is designed for medical and osteopathic physicians who are interested in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, retina, and pediatric ophthalmology. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Educational Objectives are :
• Learn about important health policy issues in order to comply with regulatory mandates and advocate for our patients.
• Identify current available laser treatments, indications, and glaucoma complications.
• Gain insight into available glaucoma devices and those in clinical trials, including efficacy, indications, technique, and complications.
• Review common and not-so-common scenarios of glaucoma patient care.
• Become familiar with diagnostic criteria and treatment of Giant Cell Arteritis.
• Gain knowledge on how to diagnose PTC and become aware of the diagnostic criteria and treatment options.
• Understand how to recognize when a patient’s subjective complaints have no objective basis.
• Gain understanding of the thought process in constructing a neuro-ophthalmic diagnosis.
• Become updated on retinal prostheses.
• Be provided with an overview of drug delivery systems for ophthalmology with special focus on a drug pump delivery system.
• Gain knowledge of stem cell therapies with special focus on a RPE sheet for AMD.
• Become acquainted with diagnosing and measuring choroidal neovascularization using OCT angiography.
• Understand how to detect proliferative diabetic retinopathy using OCT angiography.
• Gain insight in detecting retinal capillary dropout using OCT angiography.
