Ophthalmology Update 2017

Ophthalmology Update is organized by AMEDCO and would be held during Feb 18 - 19, 2017 at Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, La Jolla, California, United States Of America.

This educational activity is designed to provide ophthalmologists with exposure to the latest research and in a wide variety of ophthalmic specialties, including retina, glaucoma, cornea, cataract, oculoplastics and more. Each of these subspecialties has benefitted from a wealth of new research and innovation that, in many cases, demands a more careful look and clinical standards.

The format of this meeting will incorporate adult learning principles to optimize information transfer to the audience; this will include case presentations, an audience response system for participation in case management and to assess current practice patterns, and ample time for questions and answers to ensure interaction with the faculty.

Objectives :


After participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to :
• Analyze new research that illustrates the key role that inflammation plays in the genesis of DME and macular edema secondary to RVO
• Engage in discussions related to emerging issues in glaucoma, including risk assessment, imaging ,management and progression assessment
• Manage glaucoma using newer treatments available: surgical and pharmaceutical
• Discuss the newest glaucoma surgical devices, including those used in patients undergoing cataract surgery
• Describe outflow biology and its relevance to MIGS while citing relevant MIGS studies and trials
• Utilize advanced technologies and techniques in refractive cataract surgery, including advanced technology IOLs
• Managing IOP in retina disease state treatments
• Navigate issues relating to patient compliance/adherence with eye drop medications
• Describe how various imaging technologies, such as OCT and angiography, can assist in diagnosing and monitoring ocular conditions
