Ophthalmology for the Non-Ophthalmologist : The Eye as the Window to Systemic-Health is organized by Doheny Eye Institute and would be held on Apr 8, 2017 at Moseley-Salvatori Conference, Los Angeles, California, United States of America. The eye is often described as the window to the soul. But the eyes contain even more information than that. In this course we will review the different ways that the eyes can indicate ones overall health, as well as how the treatment of different systemic conditions can affect the eyes. The course also aims to identify times when referral for consultation or newly developed tele medicine screenings are appropriate.

Course Objectives :

• Identify systemic conditions that can have ocular manifestations
• Review systemic treatments that can have ocular side effects
• Learn to utilize telemedicine technology to achieve better patient care
• Know when to refer/consult before starting or when continuing systemic medications
• Accurately diagnose headaches and what makes some more concerning than others
