OVERVIEW

New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (NYACC) 89th Annual Scientific Session is organized by New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (NYACC) and New York Cardiac Center (NYCC) and will be held during Dec 06 - 07, 2017 at Fine & Rare, New York, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for cardiologists, cardio-thoracic surgeons, internists, family practitioners, gerontologists, oncologists, cardiac nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cardiology fellows in training (FITs) and all members of the cardiac care team. his CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :
This annual event brings together cardiologists, cardio-thoracic surgeons, internists, family practitioners, gerontologists, oncologists, cardiac nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cardiology fellows in training (FITs) and all members of the cardiovascular team. The event is presented by New York Cardiological Society, the New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the New York Cardiac Center.

This year’s conference will feature the winners of the Annual Young Investigators’ Competition, which is now open, and this year will ALSO feature the winners of the Inaugural NY FIT Jeopardy Competition!

Course Objectives :
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
• Explain differences and similarities in AMI presentation and management between the U.S. and Argentina, analyze the reasons for these differences and identify the barriers to perform rapid reperfusion therapy
• Explain the importance of ICMP in the epidemiology and mortality attributed to heart failure and describe the treatment modalities available to improve the prognosis of patients with ICMP
• Discuss the value of different test results in selecting patients with ICMP with greatest potential for benefit from surgical revascularization
• Describe potential advantages of a robotic totally endoscopic procedure
• Identify candidates for robotic totally endoscopic mitral valve repair
• Determine when it is proper to use new oral anticoagulants in ACS
• Determine current biomarkers and their role in establishing the diagnosis and prognosis of heart failure
• Differentiate between the type and severity of heart failure based on patient history, evaluation and diagnostic workup
• Describe the benefits and limitations of current heart failure therapies and discuss new and emerging therapies for heart failure and their role in the therapeutic management
• Explain the effects and implications of risk factors and comorbidities on potassium levels and hyperkalemia in heart failure patients
