Course Description:
We live in a time where clinicians need to be aware of the most up to date technologies for oral hygiene and biofilm removal. Patients are becoming increasingly aware of new advancements through the media and so this process can become consumer driven. This presentation looks at the concepts of sub and supra air polishing and the most bio compatible ways of achieving this.
Conference Objectives are :
• Be aware of the latest advancements in Piezon “No Pain” ultrasonics.
• Consider the effect of cavitation in the removal of pathogenic bacteria
• Be aware of the benefits to the patient of air polishing
• Introduce air polishing in the treatment and maintenance of the periodontal pocket and implants
• Examine the properties of Glycine and Erythritol in the disinfection of the periodontal pocket
