Muscle - Bone Deficits in Chronic Neuromuscular Conditions is organized by The University of Glasgow and would be held on Jun 15, 2017 at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

This symposium will also be a forum for clinicians (medical and allied health), translational and basic researchers from a wide range of background to exchange ideas on the muscle bone inter-relationship in boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the impact on osteoporosis in these boys. The Developmental Endocrinology Research Group has a longstanding research interest in osteoporosis in young people due to an underlying chronic medical condition and has a strong focus in boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Objectives:

• Glucocorticoid and muscle deficits on skeletal development
• Novel methods of assessment of muscle and bone
• Evaluation and management of skeletal fragility in neuromuscular conditions
• New avenues for improving muscle disease and bone
