Multidisciplinary Management of Head and Neck Oncology is organized by European Society for Radiotherapy Oncology (ESTRO), European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) and National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and will be held during Dec 10 - 13, 2017 at Academia (Research institute), Singapore.
Target Audience
This multidisciplinary course organised as a collaboration between ESTRO and EHNS (European Head and neck Society) is aimed at specialists and trainees with interest and expertise in head and neck surgery (head and neck surgeons, oto-rhino-laryngologists, maxillo-facial surgeons, reconstructive surgeons, etc.), radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and other medical specialties involved in the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer. Course Aim :
The course aims to be interactive through integration of multidisciplinary lectures and more focused workshops. The faculty includes renowned European experts involved in the multidisciplinary treatment of head and neck cancer.
Conference Objectives :
• Understand the evolving concepts of head and neck epidemiology and tumour biology,
with special focus on squamous cell histotype. Rare histotypes will also be included.
• Interpret complex head and neck imaging for the purpose of treatment decision making and therapy.
• Make judgements regarding multidisciplinary reasoning and management of tumours in the light of alternative and sometime competing treatment options including surgery and the role of systemic and targeted therapies.
• Make judgments on the availability of evidence for treatment recommendations.
• Understand the challenges of supportive care.
• Understand the principles and practice of modern radiotherapy.
