Mastering The Mitral Valve is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and will be held during Dec 01 - 02, 2017 at JW Marriott Essex House New York, New York, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, internists, nurses, physician assistants and all health care professionals involved in the evaluation, diagnosis and/or management of patients with mitral valve disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 9.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits

Conference Objectives:
After participating in this educational activity, practitioners will be able to do the following:
• Summarize current knowledge of mitral valve anatomy and describe the use of imaging studies to characterize degenerative valves.
• Use valvular heart disease recommendations to guide the decision regarding the timing of mitral valve repair.
• Present the pros and cons of mitral valve repair vs replacement, repair techniques, and minimally invasive approaches.
• Analyze the cost effectiveness of new technologies in light of changes in the health care environment.
• Describe strategies for managing complex mitral valve patients who have Barlow’s valves, tricuspid valve disease and atrial fibrillation.
• Describe the decision-making approach to the management of functional mitral valve disease including whether to repair or replace.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the most recent technologies and techniques for transcatheter repair and replacement.
