Jackson Trauma Symposium is organized by Henry Ford Allegiance Health and would be held on Sep 22, 2017 at Charles Anderson Building, Jackson, Michigan, United States of America.

The target audience for this conference for Trauma providers including surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, hospitalists, nurses, EMS providers, social workers, pharmacists, lab and blood bank technicians, and other interested healthcare professionals who may benefit from this educational offering. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Objectives are :
•Describe current trauma resuscitation practices and their challenges.
•Discuss new research findings and trends related to trauma resuscitation.
•Discriminate between survivors and non-survivors given specific resuscitation metrics.
•Review the definitions of massive transfusion.
•Identify the situations that would necessitate the use of massive transfusion.
•Discuss key elements of massive transfusion protocols.
•Describe the incidence and characteristics of mangled extremities and crush injuries.
•Discuss complications associated with mangled extremities and crush injuries.
•Compare treatment strategies for mangled extremities.
•Describe how the current response to patient injury serves as a barrier to patient safety in the current healthcare environment.
•Review the evolution of communication-and-resolution programs.
•Discuss advantages of a climate of transparency and how building a culture that favors honesty and transparency serves the organizational mission while improving medical malpractice claim metrics.
•Describe high-risk settings for interpersonal violence.
•Discuss behaviors that can reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
•List strategies for social media safety.
•Identify common injury patterns in children.
•Contrast adult trauma assessment with pediatric trauma assessment.
•List unique approaches to pediatric trauma management.
•Describe the types and venues of human trafficking in Michigan and in the US.
•Explain ways to identify and support victims of human trafficking.
•Identify resources for reporting suspected situations of human trafficking.
