OVERVIEW
Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine Course is organized by Life Support Technologies group and would be held during Jun 8 - 11, 2017 at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow, New York, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event are basically for MD, DO, DPM, NP, PA, RN, LPN, RT, EMT, Paramedics and other health care professionals and administrators. This CME conference has been approved with 40 AMA, PRA CATEGORY 1 Credits.
The course covers indications and contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen treatment, hyperbaric treatment protocols, the economics of hyperbaric practice, management of emergencies, and instruction in the use of the monoplace chamber as well as ancillary equipment associated with hyperbaric oxygen treatment. The course provides the credentials recommended for Physician Hyperbaric Supervision and CHT certification by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
Goals
• This course will bridge Hyperbaric Medicine Professional Practice Gaps as follows:
• Instill Hyperbaric Medical knowledge (as demonstrated through practical exercises and by a final written examination) among physicians and allied health professionals.
• Provide physicians with a recognized professional education course that may help them become hospital credentialed to supervise hyperbaric medical activities that take place in their institution(s).
• Empower physicians with knowledge regarding which patients will be good candidates for hyperbaric treatment based on CMS and UHMS guidelines.
• Provide improved clinical outcomes to hyperbaric - appropriate patients through the use of Hyperbaric Medicine.
• Give physicians and allied health professionals information and guidelines about procedures for treating hyperbaric patients, from initial consultation through intake, testing, and actual treatment protocols.
