OVERVIEW

International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Congress is organized by International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and will be held during Dec 04 - 08, 2017 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is unique in being a federation of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to action on diabetes, and as such, forms the largest civil society organization in the world serving people with, and affected by, diabetes. With over 230 Members in 170 countries, IDF is the legitimate voice of the global diabetes community.

The federation is engaged in action to tackle diabetes from the local to the global level - from programmes at a community level to worldwide awareness and advocacy initiatives.

IDF aims to influence policy, increase public awareness and encourage health improvement, promote the exchange of high-quality information about diabetes, and provide education for people with diabetes and their healthcare providers.

The IDF congress is the most significant global diabetes event, convening the international diabetes community including physicians, scientists, nurses, educators and other healthcare professionals, as well as government representatives and policy makers.

We regularly receive over 2000 abstracts and host more than 300 international speakers. Up to 10 parallel sessions provide between 160 and 220 hours of CME accredited scientific content at top level touching on every aspect of diabetes and attracting healthcare professionals from various sectors. Nine different programme streams including new ones like Diabetes in Society and Culture and Diabetes and Disasters reflect the ever changing environment and challenges we face today.

Applications for Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation for physicians and other healthcare professionals will be presented to the national accreditation body and the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). It is expected that the IDF Congress 2017 will be accredited with between 20 and 22 hours of CME credits. CME certificates will be available to print in the registration area and online as of Thursday 7 December 2017.
