Inaugural Jefferson Renal Update Symposium
OVERVIEW
Inaugural Jefferson Renal Update Symposium is organized by Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and would be held on Sep 23, 2017 at Dorrance H. Hamilton Building, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event for practicing physicians, nurses/nurse practitioners, hospitalists, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals specializing in nephrology, internal medicine, family medicine, and general practice. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Objectives are :
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) :
• Identify the risk factors and epidemiology of CKD and examine the key factors of progression and complications of this disease.
• Analyze the ESRD patients' rates of hospitalization, mortality, and infection to identify areas for improvement.
• Critique pathways to improve patient care and team communications as patients transition from CKD to dialysis (including home dialysis) to reduce complications and mortality.
• Define diabetic nephropathy and develop a systematic, team approach to improving patient outcomes in the assessment, management, and treatment of this disorder.
Transplantation :
• Develop a team approach to manage the surgical, medical, and pharmacological effects commonly found in newly transplanted patients and identify potential opportunities to improve communications between members of the healthcare team.
• Develop effective plans to best manage hypertension, infections and malignancies post-transplant.
Hypertension :
• Analyze the approaches to evaluation and treatment of patients with hypertension and chronic kidney disease, including resistant hypertension in this population.
• Discuss the new emerging hypertension treatment targets based on recent clinical trials.
