OVERVIEW

How To Manage: Children with Benign Haematological Problems is organized by Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and would be held on Jan 20, 2017 at RCPCH Venue Hire, London, England, United Kingdom. The target audience for this medical event are paediatric and haematology trainees, SAS doctors and newly qualified consultants, as well as general paediatricians practicing in DGHs and the community.

Benign haematological problems are common in children seen in hospital and the community. Anaemia is very prevalent, with iron deficiency the commonest cause of anaemia in the world, and sickle cell disease the commonest severe inherited disease both worldwide and in the UK. Children are frequently referred for investigation of cytopenias and bruising, and increasing numbers of children are on anticoagulants.

This course will cover the investigation and management of benign haematological conditions which are frequently encountered by paediatricians working in hospital or the community. Participants will learn a practical approach to these conditions which will be helpful both for trainees preparing for examinations and practising paediatricians.
