Gulf Regional Congress on Obesity

Gulf Regional Congress on Obesity is organized by World Obesity Federation and would be held during Sep 28 - 30, 2017 at Abu Dhabi National Convention Centre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Congress offers an opportunity for attendees to engage with national and international professionals including public health specialists, dietitians, nurses, family medicine physicians, bariatric physicians and surgeons, endocrinologists, town planners, education specialists and physical activity specialists.

The congress aims to :
• Address and discuss the key challenges around obesity and overweight in the region.
• Investigate public health strategies for prevention, and management practices for treatment in an integrated and cross-disciplinary learning environment.
• Learn about the current prevention strategies and interventions in place and the clinical treatment in practice within Abu Dhabi, understand how other countries are working towards reducing obesity within their populations and how these strategies may be applied to the region.

Outcomes
Attendees will come away with a greater knowledge of obesity, the metabolic syndrome and type II Diabetes in our region. In addition, the attendees will learn about the strategies to prevent these public health problems and how these strategies can produce better outcomes for both the general public and individuals.
