OVERVIEW
First Percutaneous Laser Ablation Network (PLAN) Educational Initiative on Laser Ablation for Liver Tumors is organized by EXCEMED and would be held during Jan 27 - 28, 2017 at Napoli, Campania, Italy. The target audience for this medical event are gastroenterologists and interventional radiologists experienced in the management of hepatocellular carcinoma and liver metastases.
During the last two decades, various local thermal ablative techniques have been developed. According to internationally endorsed guidelines, percutaneous thermal ablation is the mainstay of treatment in patients with small HCC who are not candidates for surgical resection or transplantation. Locoregional therapies are also gaining increasing interest in the treatment of inoperable liver metastases from various types of tumors. Laser ablation (LA) represents one of currently available loco-ablative techniques.
