OVERVIEW
Dysphagia Research Society (DRS) 25th Annual Meeting and Post-Graduate Course is jointly organized by Dysphagia Research Society (DRS), Continuing Medical Education Resources, Inc. and would be held during Mar 2 - 4, 2017 at The Hilton Portland and Executive Tower, Portland, Oregon, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event basically for a variety of clinicians, researchers, resident physicians, fellows and students from a wide range of disciplines including gastroenterology, neurology, otolaryngology, radiology, speech-language pathology, nutrition, biomedical engineering, dentistry, pediatrics, psychology and basic sciences, who take care of patients with swallowing disorders, including aspiration, and/or conduct research on patients with swallowing disorders. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits offering.

Objectives :
• Discuss the neurophysiological interactions between respiration and ingestion across the age span
• Detail how various respiratory diseases may affect swallowing
• Define and implement the best practice for evaluation and treatment of dysphagia for pediatric and adult patients in the intensive care unit
• Discuss methods to develop a focused and sustainable research program
Annual Meeting | CME : 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits
Objectives :
• Identify the difference between impairments associated with hypofunction, hyperfunction, and reduced motor planning
• Explain how differentiating between the various impairments in motor function may affect treatment
• Discuss the underlying mechanisms of dystussia in the neurogenic and head and neck populations
• Summarize current knowledge about the effects of Alzheimer’s disease on ingestion
• Describe critical areas to be studied in order to understand and facilitate ingestion in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease
