Course Description :
Pain symptom remains one of the most significant and most common clinical aspects for the rheumatologist. Many of the patients involved in our clinics arrive for this reason, and the task of the specialist is obviously to diagnose and above all to understand what type of pain and which therapies to offer to the patient.
The purpose of this course is to enable the Specialist and the Rhinoplasty Specialist to define and quantify pain in patients with rheumatic diseases; To discriminate between nociceptive, neuropathic pain, central and mixed sensitization; To educate the patient suffering from chronic pain and to define the concept of self-treatment; To set up a therapeutic plan that includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological aspects.
Specifically, every day of the course provides practical sessions with the use of live mannequins except for the session on intra-articular infiltration therapy techniques that will in addition require the use of an ultrasound and anatomic models. During the course, the clinic evaluations, the psychological and rehabilitative aspects will be discussed and controversial topics such as complementary and alternative therapies and the relationship between pain and radiographic aspects will be discussed.
