OVERVIEW
Capacity-building Workshop : Whole Genome Sequencing for Clinical Microbiology and Hospital Epidemiology is organized by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and would be held during Oct 10 - 13, 2017 at University Medical Center Freiburg, Freiburg Im Breisgau, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
The target audience for this medical event is basically for 20 – 30 technicians, (molecular) biologists, medical microbiologists, bioinformaticians, hospital infections control experts, infectious disease epidemiologists and public health specialists with an interest in transmission dynamics are the target groups which would benefi t most from this workshop.
Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology has developed rapidly during the last years. Innovative bench-top NGS platforms broaden application opportunities, especially for diagnostic use, epidemiological inference, and surveillance. The programme highlights opportunities and challenges posed by this technology. The workshop has been designed to boost practical knowledge exchange (with respect to both “wet-lab” and “e-lab”) as well as ample discussions with colleagues from all over Europe.
Additional Details will be posted as soon as they are available.
