OVERVIEW

A Comprehensive Board Review in Hematology and Medical Oncology is organized by University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and would be held during Sep 11 - 16, 2017 at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for physicians, APNs, physician assistants (practice medicines), and nurses. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 48.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Goal :
The course is a six-day comprehensive review of current standards and practices in the management of patients with blood disorders and malignancy. The course is designed to enable the participant to effectively prepare for the American Board of Internal Medicine certification and recertification examinations in hematology and medical oncology. Advances in clinical pharmacology, molecular genetics and risk assessment, and radiation oncology will be included.

Educational Objectives :
At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Apply knowledge gained to prepare for the hematology and medical oncology subspecialty and recertification examinations in hematology and medical oncology (knowledge, competence)
• Utilize current standards of care for patients with cancer, blood disorders and malignancies (knowledge, competence, performance)
• Demonstrate proficiency of knowledge in hematology and medical oncology (knowledge, competence, performance)
• Incorporate recent advances in management of hematologic and oncologic patients (knowledge, competence, performance)
• Define molecular determinants of cancer risk and apply this knowledge in practice (knowledge, competence, performance)
