9th Annual Pediatric Acute Wound Management and Suturing Conference is organized by Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota and would be held during Oct 12 - 13, 2017 at Children's Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event for Physicians, RNs, PAs, NPs, students, fellows, and anyone else who wants to learn to suture. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course description : -
The goal of this two day conference is to improve wound management and suturing of open wounds; according to evaluations and clinical observation, practitioners are confused about appropriate suture selection and technique and reducing the appearance of scars.
Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the effect of wound management procedures & identify the phases and processes of wound healing.
• Demonstrate the management of various types of wounds: including the appropriate wound closure technique, selection of suture/wound closure material, cleaning and preparation of the wound for closure.
• Demonstrate management of and criteria for referral onto specialists for certain facial wounds, hand wounds, and burns.
• Describe various age appropriate techniques (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological) to manage pediatric anxiety and pain that may improve the experience of the pediatric wound repair procedure.
• Identify essential documentation components of wound repair, as well as specific post-procedure instructions.
• Demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate instruments and suture material to perform various types of suture techniques.
• Demonstrate the techniques used for tissue undermining, the corrections of simple tissue deficits, and the application of wound adhesive.
