OVERVIEW
8th Annual Neonatal Advanced Practice Conference is organized by Children's Hospital Colorado and would be held during Jun 22 - 23, 2017 at Children's Hospital Colorado, Aurora, Colorado, United States Of America.
The target audience for this medical event for NNP's; NICU Nurses and all Providers of Neonatal Care. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 12.50 Credits.
Conference Objectives are :
Upon completion of this conference, participants shouldbe able to:
• Discuss substance use disorders, specifically opiate use in pregnancy, and the implications for prenatal and neonatal care.
• Examine a comprehensive plan of care for treating Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
• Explain how myths, medical misinformation and media hype about drug use and certain drugs distorts health care for pregnant women, increases costs, and increases risks to maternal, fetal and child health.
• List indications for when to use dextrose gel for appropriate patients with neonatal hypoglycemia.
• Identify low tech tests that may help in the identification of acyanotic heart lesion.
• Identify infants who are at risk for HSV infection.
• Differentiate between regurgitant and stenotic cardiac lesions, noting the hemodynamic impact of each during pregnancy.
• Describe identifying features and the initial treatment of newborns with congenital heart disease.
• Explain the principles of quality evidence before treating infants with antenatal steroids.
• Review general care guidelines for newborns with Down Syndrome in the Neonatal ICU and updated patient outcomes.
• Describe the parent perspective on spending months in the Neonatal ICU with their critically ill baby.
• Discuss results of the 2016 NANNP workforce survey on compensation.
• Analyze national issues affecting Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.
• State the known harms and benefits of postnatal steroids in the Neonatal ICU.
• Formulate a diagnosis and plan of care for ill newborns based on maternal/familial history, neonatal assessment and laboratory data.
