OVERVIEW

7th Annual Multimodal Treatment of Spinal Tumors Course is organized by Seattle Science Foundation (SSF) and would be held on Apr 15, 2017 at Seattle Science Foundation, Seattle, Washington, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event are neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, medical oncologists, neurologists, neuroradiologists, radiation therapists, interventional radiologists, and allied health professionals who specialize in the treatment of patients with spinal tumors throughout the United States.

The design is to focus on the future of spinal tumor treatment with the goal of improving treatment outcomes and overall patient care. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Objectives
By attending this course, the participant will provide better patient care through an increased ability to:
• Review new advancements in cancer treatment including personalized care and considerations.
• Summarize the methods for determining surgical versus conservative management based on instability from imaging.
• Summarize the methods of treatment available for spinal cord compression, including corticosteroids, conventional radiation therapy, surgery and radiosurgery.
• Recognize clinical indications for stereotactic radiation in patients with metastatic.
• Summarize when en bloc resection is appropriate as well as discuss the complications to consider for care of patients following those procedures.
• Discuss the process of patient selection and evaluation of patients with spinal tumors.
• Discuss the role of surgery for spinal metastasis for both bony metastasis and with spinal cord tumors.
