The target audience for this medical event for residents, critical care physicians, hospitalists, critical care surgeons, pharmacists, nursing personnel, respiratory therapists, advanced practitioners and all others who care for patients in the Intensive Care Unit This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 7.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Objectives :
• review of common drugs and opioids that cause significant morbidity and mortality, understand the pharmacological implications and management
• examine non-ventilatory strategies of managing refractory hypoxia
• assess and evaluate for new SEPSIS therapies available
• interpret the utility of a Hand Held Ultrasound Machine during Cardiac Arrest
• interpret the algorithmic approach to ultrasound guided cardiac resuscitation during cardiac arrest
• assess and manage vent modes and the benefits/risks of each
• recognize withdrawal syndromes in the ICU patient
• assess and evaluate for the presence of oncologic emergencies requiring immediate, focused, management
• identify the indications for use of Neuromuscular Blocking Agents in the ICU
• review the pathophysiology of Major Pulmonary Embolism
• illustrate a pathophysiologic approach to the diagnostics and therapeutics of Major Pulmonary Embolism
• discuss indications for thrombolytic therapy and embolectomy
• recognize indications for thrombolytic therapy in DVT/PE and discuss management of these patients
• assess and evaluate patient care and exam rooms and spaces for possible changes designed to enhance and increase staff safety.
