OVERVIEW

4th Annual Alaska Sleep Conference is organized by Global Education Group, Ganesco Inc and would be held during Sep 22 - 24, 2017 at Hotel Captain Cook, Anchorage, Alaska, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for educational needs of physicians, physician assistants, sleep technologists, respiratory therapists, dentists, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare practitioners involved in the treatment of patient in the diagnosis and care of patients with sleep disorders but, it will also be of value to the athlete, athletic trainers, coaches, educators and employers who need to realize how sleep (or lack thereof) has become a major public health problem affecting millions of individuals, along with their families and communities. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 20.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description :
The goal of this activity will be to provide attendees with an exceptional opportunity to learn, network, share knowledge and ideas, establish collaborative projects, and set priorities for role of sleep in performance. Attendance will give participants an opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the current state-of-the-art of sleep medicine, including current evidence-based guidelines, research and patient/athlete/employee/student-centered outcomes.

Conference Objectives are :
• Describe normal developmental sleep changes across the lifespan.
• Identify normal sleep patterns and common sleep disorders.
• Describe potentially adverse health outcomes associated with inadequate sleep.
• Integrate knowledge of sleep when completing health/employment assessments & patient/athlete/employee/student education.
• Evaluate environmental factors and describe interventions to promote sufficient sleep
• Describe the circadian rhythm and the various circadian sleep disorders.
• Discuss diagnosis and use of dental appliances in sleep disorders
• Discuss advancements in sleep intervention currently being researched.
• Review current trends in insomnia, parasomnias and narcolepsy.
• Discuss current clinical pharmacology being utilized in sleep medicine along with the outcomes for the therapy.
