OVERVIEW

3rd Annual Adult Congenital Heart Symposium is organized by Houston Methodist Research Institute and would be held on Nov 18, 2017 at Houston Methodist Research Institute, Houston, Texas, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event for Healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses and trainees, with a specialty or interest in internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, obstetrics and cardiology will benefit from this course. The program is designed for primary care physicians and cardiologists.

Program Overview :
For the first time in history patients born with congenital heart disease are surviving and even thriving in adulthood, many with a normal life expectancy. As a relatively new patient population, many individuals are lost in the system as they transition from pediatrics to an adult physician. Recognizing this challenge, Houston Methodist DeBakey Institute of Cardiovascular Education & Training will be holding it's third annual Adult Congenital Heart (ACH) Symposium. This popular annual event is a unique opportunity for patients, family, caregivers and their physicians to learn more about care and treatment options from leading ACH experts.

Educational Objectives :
Upon completion of this live activity, the participant should be able to:
• Describe the basic anatomy changes in common adult congenital heart conditions
• Identify the early signs of a congenital issue
• Describe when to intervene and when to refer
• Discuss important measures for maintenance and preventive care in adult congenital heart disease

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
