Description
Our 33rd Annual Fall Conference on Pediatric Emergencies focuses on many challenges facing Pediatric and Emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, PAs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the clinical care of children. The goal of this conference is to increase the knowledge and enhance the competence of attendees. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of the evidence-based topics presented.
Objectives
• Explain the approach to treat new or novel drugs of abuse
• Diagnose specific pediatric rheumatologic conditions that might present acutely, such as Kawasaki disease, Henoch-Schonlein purpura, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis
• Recognize common presentations of bacterial skin infections
• Differentiate fractures caused by child abuse versus non-intentional trauma
• Identify current recommendations for testing simple febrile convulsions
