27th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID)

27th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) is organized by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and would be held during Apr 22 - 25, 2017 at Messe Wien, Wien, Austria.

The ECCMID Programme Committee is preparing a series of some 150 top-notch sessions, including keynote lectures, scientific symposia, oral presentations, educational session as well as more than 2,000 poster presentations.

ESCMID expects more than 10,000 participants who are keen to learn about the latest research results, therapeutic approaches and strategies in the battle against infectious diseases. Microbiologists, clinicians, public health and infection control experts will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions on how to translate research findings into diagnostic tools, medicines, guidelines, policies and education.

The clinical grand rounds, chaired by international experts, will feature several multifaceted educational cases and during meet-the-expert sessions, young professionals will have the opportunity to discuss their daily challenges with renowned experts. The educational workshops, organized by ESCMID study groups, the Trainee Association of ESCMID, the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) and the European Committee on Infection Control (EUCIC) will offer superb networking opportunities in addition to their educational value.

The most popular sessions will include keynote lectures and presentations from Young Investigator and Excellence Awardees as well as pro-con sessions and oral presentations on ground-breaking research approaches and findings. In addition, the programme committee will accept late-breaking abstracts, which will be presented during dedicated sessions. ECCMID will feature additional networking opportunities such as the ESCMID networking corner presenting collaborative projects and international networks, the affiliated corner where affiliated societies present their programmes and offerings, and the pipeline corner where innovative drug companies are offered a platform to present early-stage antimicrobial therapies.
