24th Annual Radiation Protection Training Course

24th Annual Radiation Protection Training Course is organized by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and The Royal Marsden Education and would be held during May 8 - 12, 2017 at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, England, United Kingdom. The target audience for this medical event basically forhospital physicists working in the field of radiation protection or those who want to expand their knowledge in this field.

The course will provide the theoretical background and training necessary for the radiological protection requirements of both ionising and non-ionising radiations used in hospitals.

The main four-day module covers the following subject areas: radiation risks, dosimetry, biological effects, instrumentation, legislation, transport, emergencies, and safe practice in the medical uses of ionising radiations. As well as lectures, there will be small, informal workshop sessions which will provide for a range of interests. An optional fifth day will be run on radiation protection issues around the medical use of non-ionising radiations.
