OVERVIEW
20th Annual Frontiers in Pediatrics is organized by Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and will be held during Dec 01 - 03, 2017 at Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston, South Carolina, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is pediatric primary care practitioners, including Pediatricians, Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 15.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Objectives :
• Discuss the broad differential diagnosis of airway obstruction and methods for establishing an asthma diagnosis
• Review the NHLBI guidelines and recommendations for long term asthma management
• Apply the NHLBI guidelines and recent literature to appropriately select medications and delivery devices to optimize a patient’s asthma control
• Identify how environmental control factors and comorbid conditions can impact asthma control
• Identify common sexually transmitted infections among adolescents and young adults in order to adequately screen and treat in a primary care setting
• Communicate effectively with adolescents about sensitive topics related to screening, counseling, and treating sexually transmitted infections
• Recognize changes in the prevalence of some sexually transmitted infections and updated treatment guidelines
• Name diagnostic criteria for ADHD and list treatment options
• Manage ADHD more comfortably when there are psychiatric co-morbidities
• Formulate ideas for targeting treatment resistance in patient with ADHD
• Identify trauma symptoms and assess children potentially impacted by trauma in primary care settings
• Identify trauma symptoms in children with co-occurring mental health diagnoses
• Recognize what evidence based trauma treatments exist, and the basic foundation of those treatments
