Objectives for Generalists and Oncologists

Upon completion of this course, General Gynecologists will :
• Be prepared to perform total laparoscopic hysterectomy: exposed to four techniques
• Be prepared to perform advanced laparoscopic procedures: enterocele repair, uterosacral ligament plication, ureterolysis and bowel resection for endometriosis, cystoscopy, appendectomy
• Be prepared to perform laparoscopic surgery for the very obese, the very large mass, and the very large uterus
• Be able to estimate and manage anesthetic implications of steep trendelenberg and pneumoperitoneum
• Be able to detect, avoid and manage intestinal and urological injury
• Be able to integrate ethical issues of incorporating new skills into practice

Upon completion of this course, Oncologists will :
• Be prepared to perform radical laparoscopic hysterectomy, and pelvic lymphadenectomy.
• Be prepared to perform both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomies up to the renal vessels.
• Be prepared to close cystotomy, enterotomy, pleurotomy, debulking and other advanced oncology procedures.
