OVERVIEW
The 14th Conference on Personalized Breast Care: Tailoring Breast Imaging & Treatment to the Individual is organized by University of Virginia and would be held during Nov 04 - 05, 2016 at University of Virginia Medical Center - Jordan Hall Conference Center, Charlottesville, Virginia, United States of America.
This course will feature brief didactic sessions, discussions, and interactive case presentations. The intent of the course is to provide clinicians with practical information related to breast imaging and breast care and will include the latest information on new screening methods and treatment of minimal breast cancer.
Target Audience :
The course is directed at physicians and nurse practitioners in radiology, family practice,
internal medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology. In addition the diagnosis and
management topics address concerns of radiation technologists, general surgeons,
radiation and medical oncologists, radiologists, and endocrinologists.
Educational Objectives :
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Identify and discuss the latest modalities and techniques being used in the
field of breast Imaging
• Discuss differential diagnosis of breast disease and lobular neoplasia
• Demonstrate stereotactic biopsy procedures steps through hands on training
• Communicate treatment options for newly diagnosed breast cancers
• Improve skills in detecting early phase breast cancer using tomosynthesis and breast ultrasound
• Identify surgical management options with an emphasis on nipple sparing surgery
• Discussion on pros and cons of screening mammography in reference to new screening guidelines and personalized breast care.
