OVERVIEW

The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis boasts a rich history in hypnosis training and research. Each Annual Conference comprises a Workshop Track (including Introductory/Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Workshops) as well as a Scientific Program that features the latest research on clinical and experimental hypnosis. The Society includes some of the most advanced clinicians and researchers on hypnosis in the world.

The annual workshops and scientific program are designed for Psychologists, Physicians, Social Workers, Dentists, Chiropractors, master's level Nurses and Clinical Nurse Practitioners, other master's level licensed mental health and healthcare professionals, and clinical and experimental researchers in the field of hypnosis. Students enrolled in related fields of study are invited to attend and participate.

Session topics are varied, and have included the following: providing a definition of hypnosis; reviewing clinical applications of hypnosis; medical hypnosis and its uses; reviewing the latest in hypnosis research; hypnosis for pain management, hypnosis for ADHD, PTSD, hot flashes, anxiety and substance abuse; discussing hypnosis in health care settings; reviewing clinical applications of alert hypnosis; discussing hypnotizability; discussing hypnosis and mind-body communication, mindfulness; and meditation; reviewing ego state therapy, trance, dissociation, among others.

The 2016 meeting will be held in two locations -the Hilton Boston Dedham Hotel, in Dedham, MA and at the nearby campus of William James College in Newton (just 20 minutes outside Boston).
