Asthma is the most common chronic illness of childhood, affecting almost 7 million children in the United States. This challenge remains to provide safe and effective treatment of asthma and allergies. They developed this program to provide a forum to discuss current topics related to the diagnosis and management of pediatric asthma and allergy with primary care providers, who care for the majority of these children. This CME conference has been approved with 5.10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the natural history of asthma
2. Develop strategies to diagnose and manage patients with food allergies
3. Utilize consultants for diagnosing and managing allergic rhinitis effectively
4. Incorporate spirometry into the assessment of asthma severity
5. Demonstrate proper techniques for medication delivery
