MR Safety Workshop is organized by University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and would be held on Nov 2, 2016 at Robert C. Hickey Auditorium, Houston, Texas, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event for Radiologists, MR physicists, MR technologists, MR nurses, students, residents and fellows in imaging.
Topics will include the latest "need to know" information in RF thermal considerations and biomedical implants, static field and spatial gradient considerations, and gadolinium based contrast agents. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Educational Objectives :
• Identify various mechanisms via which burns can occur during an MRI study (knowledge, competence)
Specify steps that can be used to abate risks of thermal injury during an MRI study (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes)
• Recognize the different forces in MR scanning environments (knowledge, competence)
• Identify & manage the impact of these forces on ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic devices, implants, and foreign bodies (knowledge, competence, performance)
• Incorporate the dissociation theory into daily practice and potential effect of retained intracranial gadolinium after repeated doses (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes).
