OVERVIEW

The MAP conference explores ways to better use existing research data in order to improve clinical oncologists personalised treatment programs for cancer patients.

It will address genomic alteration interpretation for clinical use in personalised treatment of cancers, immunotherapy as well as the role of biomarkers and companion tests.

There will be a strong participation from clinical oncologists, researchers, fellows, regulators, industry R&D representatives and investigators from all around the world. The first edition in Paris in October 2015 was a great success and hosted over 400 basic science researchers and clinicians from Europe and as far away as Australia, Brazil, Japan, China and the USA.

A joint initiative of Cancer Research UK, ESMO and UNICANCER (French Comprehensive Cancer Centers), under the chairmanship of Pr Chrales Swanton (University College London - Cancer Institute - UK) and Prs Jean-Charles Soria and Fabrice Andre (Institut Gustave Roussy - France), the conference will highlight the latest medical developments in a constantly evolving field.

The development of new biotechnologies has revolutionised the applications of personalised therapy in metastatic cancer. It is now possible to perform multigene sequencing for cancer patients, either in clinical trials, or in routine use.

Unfortunately, while the technologies are robust, the interpretations of these molecular analyses is still a matter of debate, and there is a need to understand which molecular alterations should be targeted in cancer patients.

The MAP conference will equip clinicians and researchers to interpret clearly the molecular analyses of their patients.
- Scientific presentations by international leaders will highlight the latest advances in the field of personalised medicine for cancer patients.
- Genomic clinical cases will offer some real-life examples of clinical interpretation in this field of genetic science.
- Round table discussions will allow participants to exchange on how to prioritise targets in cancer patients.
