Lurie Cancer Center Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium is organized by Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and would be held during Dec 3 - 4, 2016 at Prentice Women's Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.
The target audience for this activity includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, surgical oncologists, fellows in training, oncology nurses, oral surgeons, dentists, speech pathologists and allied health professionals treating or interested in treating those with head and neck cancer.
The Lurie Cancer Center Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium is a one-and-a-half-day interactive meeting on the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 12.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).
Learning Objectives
• Employ a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of head and neck cancer
• Assess state-of-the art therapeutic options for the treatment to head and neck cancer including:
• Minimally invasive surgical treatment, including robotic surgery, image-guided skull base surgery, and sentinel lymph node mapping
• Novel radiation delivery methods, including proton beam therapy and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
• Molecularly targeted chemotherapy and immunotherapy for the treatment of advanced head and neck cancer
• Discuss future directions to the treatment of head and neck cancer based on the latest basic science and clinical developments, including:
• The importance of human papillomavirus (HPV) in the treatment of head and neck cancer
• The latest developments in the molecular biology of head and neck cancer and its impact on management
• The role of biomarkers in the contemporary management of head and neck cancer
• The use of advanced imaging techniques in the evaluation and surveillance of head and neck cancer
• Apply current treatment guidelines to patients with head and neck cancer
• Design quality measures for the care of head and neck cancer into their own clinical practice
