Innovations in Endoscopic Intracranial Surgery : A Hands-On Course is organized by University of Pittsburgh and Would be held during Jun 22 - 24 ,2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
The targeted audience for this medical event basically for practicing neurosurgeons, fellows and residents who are interested in learning, updating or advancing their ability to access all areas of the intracranial space using endoscopic and minimally invasive approaches.
This course is a comprehensive overview of the concepts of cranial endoscopy as well as multiple endoscopic and minimally invasive corridors of approach to all areas of the brain and skull base which combines 3D anatomical and didactic lectures with hands-on anatomical dissection, prosection and live interactive surgical case demonstration of: Endoscopic Endonasal Surgery (EES) ,Endoscopic Port Surgery , Keyhole Approaches (retromastoid and eyebrow).
Course Objectives
Following completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Learn relevant anatomy of the skull base from endonasal and keyhole perspectives.
Identify relevant anatomy of white matter for planning endoscopic port surgery.
Learn relevant anatomy of the orbit for eyebrow and transorbital approaches.
Review the learning curve and appropriate case selection for endoscopic endonasal surgery, endoscopic port surgery, and keyhole approaches.
