The 9th edition of the European MedTech Forum will be held on 30 November – 2 December in Brussels and will revolve around the theme The 4th industrial revolution : the MedTech era?.
New technologies such as big data and the Internet of Things are transforming our daily lives in ways that could not have been imagined just a decade ago. These new technologies are heavily impacting the healthcare sector and challenge our ideas about what it means to be human.
This year's theme : The 4th Industrial Revolution – the medtech era
The first Industrial Revolution was characterized by steam and water. The second was heralded by the introduction of electricity which opened the door to mass production. The third is characterized by the internet, communication technologies, and the digitalisation of everything. The fourth Industrial Revolution will see the blurring of the boundaries between the physical, digital and biological worlds.
