European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaestheiologists (EACTA) 31st Annual Congress

On behalf of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology (EACTA) and the Local Organising Committee, it is a great pleasure to invite you to the 2016 EACTA Annual Congress, that will take place in Basel, Switzerland, from 11-13 May.

Human factors underpinning patient safety is the theme of the 2016 EACTA Annual Congress.Therefore, the Congress programme will finely focus on ‘human factors engineering’, that is ‘designing the workplace and the equipment in it to accommodate for limitations of human performance’ (WHO Patient Safety Curriculum Guide). In addition, the programme will offer a well-balanced mixture of lectures, workshops, problem-based learning discussions and meet-the-expert sessions covering many important scientific and practical issues in cardiac, thoracic and vascular anaesthesia and critical care medicine. A faculty of internationally renowned speakers will address the most important issues and hot controversies in our fields, and scientific researchers will present results of their most recent work.
